Our home is in
north central Iowa, about 85 miles northwest of Des Moines. Three to four months during the winter you will find us at our little home in southern Texas.
When time and funds permit we enjoy travelling and spending as much time as possible with our family and friends. We are the proud parents
of two delightful children, a son and a daughter, and six grandchildren - three boys and three girls. Pictures can be found in our Family Album.
Mary retired in July 2009 after working for over twelve years for Target Stores. At home she enjoys spending time at the computer keyboard keeping up-to-date on
all the family activities on MyFamily.com, ,playing various computer games, and communicating with family and friends on facebook.com.
She likes to cook and try new recipes, read, entertain friends and family, and of course loving her grandchildren. During the summer you'll find her outdoors working in the garden and flower beds. She has become a
race fan of the NASCAR Sprint Cup series and enjoys watching the races on weekends. She also has picked up a new pasttime making quilts.
Ron retired in 1995. For nearly 31 years he was employed full-time with the 133 Air
Control Squadron in Fort Dodge, and was a member of the Iowa Air National Guard a little over 32 years.
Since retiring he he has kept busy helping with the housekeeping, plus there are always home maintenance and remodeling jobs that need to be done. He also likes using
the computer and dabbles with writing web pages. Other hobbies include digital photography, playing guitar and singing. Like Mary, during the warm months you'll find him working in the yard, flower beds and garden.
Ron is an avid NASCAR race fan also, claiming Jeff Gordon as his favorite team.
In the 80's and 90's we hosted several foreign exchange students.
Over a ten year period five students, each from a different country, made their home with us during their school year. We hold a special place in
our hearts for each of them. If you care to see photos look at our Exchange Students page. Mary was
an Area Representative of the exchange program for many years, a job that challenged her to find host families
for the many fine youngsters who applied to spend a school year in the United States.
